CONTROLLER:
WELDING TRANSFORMER:
Head Assembly Designed for Durability and Consistent Per formance Low-inertia linear precision cross roller slide head assembly assures continued smooth operation and repeatable performance, Rugged construction for long, trouble-free service.
Head Force System Guarantees Precision Weld Performance The head force system is in direct alignment with electrodes. This enables follow-up response not available in cantilever-type heads and assures precision weld performance.
Special Head Firing Switch Insures Repeatability and Reliability of Welds A reliable feature on all Hanson welders. It allows the welding control to be fired only when the predetermined force range has been reached by measuring the displacement of the head force system.
Welding parameter can be set via touch screen.
Weld enable and disable, auto mode and semi auto mode can be selected on the panel switch.

This semi-automatic seam welder is a unique four station indexing machine designed to seam weld tubular metal components with an ID range of 3”-10” and a length of 6” to 16”. The indexing positions are as follows:
This automatic loading station is one of 26 active stations on a 50-pallet precision indexer. Trays of motors are factory packed in trays 6 rows deep with 8 motors in each row. The trays are released one at a time from a tray stacker onto a conveyor and moved into position at the automatic motor loading position. A horizontal pick and place mechanism extends and secures a row of 8 motors and places all 8 motors on a precision transfer belt simultaneously. The horizontal pick and place is servo controlled to index to the proper motor row for pick up and transfer. This system loads 1,440 motors per hour.
This is a manually loaded and unloaded seam welding machine utilizing one operator. In operation the operator receives pre-rolled water heater bases from a previous operation in bulk and loads the base onto fixturing that locates, positions, and clamps the base prior to welding. The tooling is fully adjustable and able to accept the full range of water heater bases. Once loaded, the operator initiates the machine cycle. When complete, the operator removes the completed part and then reloads. The system utilizes a 50KVA midfrequency water cooled welding system that integrates with a linear transport seam welding wheel with fully adjustable force system.
This precision soldering and welding system was custom designed and built to reflow solder for a medical application. It required reflow soldering a cable with 4 pre-tinned conductors on 0.100” centers to a sensing head with gold plated terminals also on 0.100” centers.
We recognized that this application would require special fixturing to align the components and position them precisely with the electrodes. We chose to use our model AP-2D-2W dual ram weld head for the application since it is equipped with two upper rams with individual force systems and independent head firing switches. By spacing the electrode center lines 0.200” apart we could sequentially actuate both upper rams from one position and achieve two solder joints at positions 1 & 3. At completion of 1 & 3 we index the lower tooling 0.100” and the repeat the process described above and join the components at positions 2 & 4 eliminating any necessity for removing the very fragile components from the tooling until completed.
This robotic work cell was developed for an automotive parts manufacture to assist in the the assembly of a very small part into a plastic element for a turn signal assembly. We chose to leave the small parts on a reel as they exit the blanking press rather than singulate them into bulk as is normally done. This eliminates part distortion, the need for bowl feeding, and significantly improved assembly up time.
